Organic Dried Sage
Title

Organic sage grown and dried in the Tea With Iris garden in Palm Desert, California.

White sage (Salvia apiana) is endemic to this region, as it only grows in southern California and parts of Baja California, Mexico.

I recommend the documentary called, Saging The World, that is about protecting white sage from being poached in the wild due to the recent demand in popular culture.  It is so well done and offers solutions that everyone can use to help protect this special native plant.

I have to add my favorite quote from the film below, because it reminds me of how much my grandparents, Carmen and Louis Martinez taught me from their garden.

“When you change the way you think, and you see plants as relatives . . . you wouldn’t go and pull your grandmother out by the roots. When you think of things as relatives and not as commodities, that’s when the mind shift changes.” -Heidi Lucero, Acjachemen and Mustun Ohlone
